A little bit about me
Family
I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri as the youngest of 5 children. In 2006 I married my husband Ben. In 2011 we adopted our son Ike from South Korea and in January 2014 we had our daughter Vivian.
School
I attended St. Mary's College of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana where I received a bachelors in Communications. I went on to receive my Masters in Special Education from Roosevelt University in Chicago.
Experience
This is my 12th year in the field of education. I have taught in both urban and suburban districts in grades K-8th. I spent my first 3 years as a resource room teacher in Chicago. This was a great experience for me and really helped mold me into the teacher I have become. In 2007 we relocated to Michigan and I started teaching in Troy. My first 7 years in Troy were as a Resource Room teacher. This is now my second year teaching 4th grade and I absolutely love teaching 4th grade!
